Help us reach 500 US Soldiers on Memorial Day 2010
The Portsmouth International Airport doesn’t see passenger traffic these days. However, at odd hours throughout the week, this is either the last stop or the first returning step on US soil for troops deployed in the Global War on Terrorism. A group of volunteers, the Pease Greeters, are there to greet each flight and make this brief, routine stop a high point - whooping and hugging like a large extended family, thanking the servicemen and women for their service to this country.
This Memorial Day, we want to give 500 prepaid Remembered Voices cards to the Pease Greeters, who will distribute the cards to the troops passing through the PIA gates. Please help us reach our goal by May 30! Ask your employer about sponsoring 10 or more RV cards – and we will match that quantity until we reach our goal.
The pre-paid cards will allow each soldier to connect to their families - during deployment when they are separated by 12 time zones, and when they return with stories ready to be recorded and saved for their children and children’s children.
Contact us for more information on sponsorship – help us thank those who serve!
